Il fait 21 degr\u00e9s au thermom\u00e8tre de la voiture. Le sentier commence assez tranquillement, et finit sur les 100 derniers m\u00e8tres par se raidir significativement, et par devenir un peu paumatoire (heureusement, le balisage jaune aide un peu). J\u2019arrive finalement au sommet \u00e0 9h30, en \u00e9tant rest\u00e9 \u00e0 95% \u00e0 l\u2019ombre \u2026. Le topo indique de descendre la cr\u00eate au Sud, mais il est encore t\u00f4t et je d\u00e9cide de faire un petit d\u00e9tour vers l\u2019est en passant par la Punta Renuit, qu\u2019on rejoint par un joli sentier en balcon. Je suis maintenant en plein cagnard, je sens que la descente va \u00eatre longue ! Heureusement le chemin est facile, en balcon \/ l\u00e9g\u00e8re descente, ce qui permet d\u2019avancer vite. Je suis surpris de voir les nuages s\u2019amonceler alors que la m\u00e9t\u00e9o annon\u00e7ait grand beau sur Menton. La fatigue commence \u00e0 se faire sentir, d\u2019autant que la pr\u00e9sence des nuages ne suffit plus \u00e0 compenser l\u2019effet de la chaleur. Je commence \u00e0 avoir l\u2019impression d\u2019\u00eatre dans un four, impression qui ne va cesser de cro\u00eetre de fa\u00e7on inversement proportionnelle \u00e0 l\u2019altitude.<\/p>\n<p>Heureusement apr\u00e8s les granges St Paul (445m) le sentier devient un peu moins technique, et apr\u00e8s \u00eatre pass\u00e9 sous le viaduc de l\u2019autoroute, tout le reste du parcours (que je fais en mode pilote automatique, submerg\u00e9 par la fatigue et la fournaise) se fera dans les rues et ruelles du haut de Menton. J\u2019arrive enfin sur le port de Garavan vers 14h. Il me reste environ 1,5L d\u2019eau, la bouteille suppl\u00e9mentaire achet\u00e9e \u00e0 Sospel n\u2019aurait finalement pas \u00e9t\u00e9 n\u00e9cessaire (mais j\u2019aurai aussi pu avoir beaucoup plus chaud si les nuages n\u2019avaient pas \u00e9t\u00e9 l\u00e0 \ud83d\ude09 ).\u00a0 J\u2019ai deux heures et demie de libres avant mon train pour Marseille, je commence donc par m\u2019installer en terrasse pour commander quelque chose de frais. La chaleur est tellement lourde qu\u2019apr\u00e8s \u00eatre rest\u00e9 assis une demi-heure, et avoir bu une carafe d\u2019eau enti\u00e8re et deux bouteilles de k\u00e9fir glac\u00e9, je sue toujours \u00e0 grosses gouttes.<\/p>\n<p>Renon\u00e7ant \u00e0 l\u2019id\u00e9e de reprendre une apparence humaine dans un d\u00e9lai raisonnable, je vais r\u00e9gler mes consos et demande \u00e0 la g\u00e9rante du caf\u00e9 si elle veut bien prendre en d\u00e9p\u00f4t la liseuse qui m\u2019a \u00e9t\u00e9 confi\u00e9e au refuge des Merveilles pour que son propri\u00e9taire, absent cet apr\u00e8s-midi, puisse venir la r\u00e9cup\u00e9rer. Elle n\u2019a pas l\u2019air tr\u00e8s motiv\u00e9e et me sugg\u00e8re de la d\u00e9poser \u00e0 la capitainerie du port, qui refusera \u00e9galement de s&rsquo;en charger. Je me r\u00e9signe \u00e0 attendre la clim du train pour me rafra\u00eechir. Quand le train arrive, mauvaise surprise : il est bond\u00e9, et je vais devoir faire le trajet jusqu\u2019\u00e0 Nice debout, en mode m\u00e9tro aux heures de pointe \ud83d\ude41 .
